Caribbean Singing Bowl

During "Cutting Edge" course, I deepened my knowledge in the field of parametric design. I designed a controller for instrumental music, inspired by an ancient Tibetan bowl. The piece is made of brass casting and painted in powerful green.

The keyboard located at the top with buttons in 3 different sizes, made of hard rubber, and separate in the type of finish. The main parametric part is arranged in embedded diamond grid, with bumps both in and out, increasing in the middle and gradually disappears at the edges. The headphone jack and the charging port are located at the bottom, with a rubber surface for a comfortable grip.

The primary design role was focused on natural bowl, using materials, shape and colors that attached to the original Tibetan bowl but with an extension of advanced technology. Mixing the bowl is done by playing the top keyboard and using gentle gestures on the diamond grid.
