Tempo

Tempo is defined as a temporary folding chair that fits small spaces by displaying  the classic “90° degrees angle” look and an unexpected folding element that merges flexible and stiff material.

The development, evolution and birth of this sophisticated system was borrowed from inspiring folds from different worlds in nature.

By conserving simple movements and applying materialistic knowledge, the novel fold direction that is  designed here uses the central axis as engineering lock to allow the formation of a seat and a backrest.

Tempo functions in two opposites modes - open and closed. In the open position it transmits stability and lightness, while in the closed position it  hangs from a  wall – as art, against the exact structural rules of a chair.
